In Memory of #Biggie The Original David Obese Mouthpiece Sweatshirt classic. Somebody told me this lyric was too obscure for anybody to know where it came from, that was more of an insult to Mr Christopher Wallace than to my design…i think we can all agree, there was absolutely nothing obscure about the Notorious B.I.G. or his lyrics.

Michael Jordan turns the big 5-0 today. I designed these concept shirts for Jordan Brand back when we were working on a collab. I found out randomly that they were still hanging up in Nike’s Portland offices.

THANK U Queen Latifah for this gem back in 1994!! I think the I wanna be down remix was one of the best things that could have happened to a 13 year old me back in “94 loved hip hop and Brandi was doing her thing, marrying these female MCs with Brandi’s track on this mix was genius.
As you can tell I really like text, fonts, typeface and playing around with negative space and words as design. I created the graphic above for fun to see if I could fit all of those words from Latifah’s rhyme together and not have it look jumbled. what do u think?

#AFRICAN #BATMAN SHIRTS! Just landed, we sold out and just got a fresh batch! s/o to @BKNYprinting This is one of my absolute favorite shirts! I’m a huge Batman fan and this sketch was something I felt really inspired to create. I’m also a Nigerian American; African dad, American Mom. Growing up I never saw myself as “mixed” but just as a regular black chic, the older I get though I see and appreciate the very different cultural personalities playing in my gene pool. The caption behind the African American was “Caught Between Awesomeness and Ambiguity”. It sums up the feeling I think some people get when trying to carve out their identity while accepting their inherent uniqueness. The AFRICAN AMERICAN image is comprised of masks, so even though both masks have a very striking identity they still cover something, someone. The “African” being the traditional mask and The “American” being the American Super Hero mask.
